Plenty More Pew-Pew Practice | James and Resident Evil 4 (Let's Play Part 2)
Fun fact time! In the late 1950s, gun enthusiast Jeff Cooper hosted a shooting competition in southern California. The fastest shooter to pop 12 balloons, positioned within 21 feet, would be declared the winner. One of the entrants, a deputy sheriff from L.A., had employed a personally-developed posture for aiming accuracy and managed to win. Cooper, thus impressed, incorporated what he saw into a technique dubbed the “weaver stance”, which would be taught at his training school. The stance was named after the contest winner, Sheriff Jack Weaver, and would go on to be very popular.
Leon will be adopting the weaver stance several times in this episode. After escaping execution, he will be facing several of the monstrous villagers on his way to locate the president's daughter. Because he is a trained special agent, I'm sure that our hero knows what the weaver stance is, and can take on the bad guys comfortably. I, on the other hand, can't aim efficiently to save my life. I'll have to learn quickly though, because it is not my life on the line, but rather Leon's (and Ashley's).
I'm James, and I play games. Let's play Resident Evil 4!
