Pocket Price Kids: The Tinderbox š„ - A Chaotic Interactive Fairy Tale (No Commentary)
3This is one of the strangest interactive storybook games I've ever played!
I remember playing this as a kid and being very confused about a lack of interaction in the game. I realize now it was because the game has a very peculiar UI where you need to interrupt the story and click on the beach ball to interact with the background elements otherwise it'll skip to the next page without giving you a chance to play. I've edited the footage of this game so it flows a bit better but this was very odd to play.
I also discovered something hidden within the game that I couldn't believe! There's an entire mini game that looks like it came out of DOOM where you are in a "dungeon" and need to shoot weird enemies in order to progress. Due to the first-person camera (motion sickness) and awkward difficulty I wasn't able to beat the mini game but I was shocked when I uncovered this. The back of the CD case was also confusing/slightly misleading because it describes the overall game by saying "Win over the evil guard of the Dungeon in this action-packed 3D game!" by making it look like that was the premise of the entire game.
From the strange animations to the FPS mini-game as well as the game having a very confused identity (nowhere on the cover does it mention anything about "Tiffy's Magical Tales") I can't wait to check out the other titles in this series! I think I have the entire collection so there will be more to come!
