Hard mode isn't all that different from normal in terms of a speedrun, some enemies are more aggressive, shoot more, spawn in larger groups, things of that nature, which only mildly slows down a run. The biggest thing that affects individual runs is any drops in power don't drop a pickup, so knowing how to recover from that is useful.
