And we're back! The last hack battle I recorded was on Nov. 19, 2013. That was roughly two and a half years ago. The time has come though, Hoenn and Kalos are at my disposal and I plan to take the fight EVERYWHERE. It feels great to get back into it, and I figured, what would be a better way to start off 2016? To hack in the character I played as for about 2 years in Black and White 2! Still working on hacking him in as my player character, but modeling is NOT in my forte, so it'll probably be a while before that happens.

Before any of that, though, I should probably explain my current situation. My 3DS is having trouble, specifically with the recording hardware that's installed. It literally will NOT record unless I am sitting there with a ton of pressure forcing the Micro USB connector to stay downward. When I recorded this video I used my foot for the pressure and remained hunched over the entire time causing my back and thumb to be in immense pain. That said, as soon as I can I'm sending it in for repairs. Hopefully this issue isn't a recurring one after I get it back, but I'm not sure exactly how long that will be or how many hacks I can manage to sit through pain for. On the plus side, I got this recorded in the first week of 2016. A day late since it's Saturday, but overall I'm happy I was able to do at least this before shipping it back to Japan.

Now, for questions I believe I'll be asked.
Q: That Luxray was shiny! Can you do shiny Pokemon now?
A: Technically, no I can't. All I did was replace the texture of the regular Luxray with the shiny one. I could have done this in B/W2, but the thought never occurred to me back then. Still, this character and his team are important to me, so I wanted to make it as accurate to his team as possible. Compiling all the Pokemon models back into their files takes a LONG time, so this isn't something I'll be doing to often.

A: Let me stop you right there. No. Well, not yet anyway. With my recording device's current situation and me wanting to learn everything I can with these games, I really want to take it slow. I'll post a video stating the requirements within a few months, but I want to do my own characters and friends before anything else, okay? So, please don't ask. This is me begging you, PLEASE DON'T ASK. In the meantime, I'm not sure he's still doing requests, but you can go check out MixEli's channel and see if he's up for it.
Q: Is this harder to do than B/W/B2/W2 hack battles?
A: Harder? No. Not at all, it's even easier in some aspects. It is however more time consuming. Editing textures for models is more difficult than sprites. Recompiling the game's files takes a lot longer than any of the Gen V games, and unlike the Gen V games I can't test things on the spot with an emulator. I need to actually load the files onto my SD Card, so that my Alpha Sapphire could read the data. Don't expect as frequent uploads as with my White 2 Hacks.

Q: Will you make tutorials?
A: Maybe. It honestly depends on how much time I have. I'd like to do tutorials, but there are so many requirements that people don't think about that I'm betting I'll just get complaints like, "Homebrew doesn't work for me! WHY!?" When I literally explain it in the video. I want to for people who listen and learn, but don't want to for those who can't do either of those.
