Pokémon Blue Version Playthrough Part 3 (The Mew Glitch and Gym Leader Misty!)
In this video, we take on the Nugget Bridge and its... pretty disappointing set of trainers. Of course, you don't have to do this now and we can just go straight to Misty's Gym instead, but there's a reason I did this first...
The Mew glitch is pretty well known and VERY easy to pull off, but this is actually my first time ever trying it out. Besides a few flunks, it's actually quite simple! All you need to do is catch an Abra to the left side of the bridge (make sure you avoid the trainer in the grass), have a slot open in your party so it goes straight to your team, use Teleport, then go back up the bridge. Next, save right before the space where the trainer in the grass can see you, then step down and pause the MOMENT you're about to be spotted. If you're in the right spot and you opened the menu, teleport back to Cerulean City. The trainer will notice you, but you'll still teleport back. Next, simply enter Misty's Gym, battle the first trainer with the Horsea and Shellder, then walk back out of the gym and up to the bridge. The menu should spontaneously open. Once you close it, you'll be ambushed by a Lv. 7 Mew if done correctly! It only knows Pound, so just whittle down its health and paralyze it if you can, then chuck as many Poké Balls as you can until it finally decides to stay in one. Tadaaaa! You got yourself a Mew. Maybe. Hopefully.
Anyways, Misty's Gym is just a joke, it's not as bad as Brock's but Misty's Starmie does NOTHING even relatively threatening if you started with Squirtle, as you can see here.
