Special thanks to DrDark7 for making this possible. Seriously. If it wasn't for him, none of this would even be happening right now. But point is, this is a playthrough I am dying to cover. Welcome to Pokémon Colosseum.
Released on November 2003 (Japan), March 2004 (North America) and May 2004 (Europe), this game was developed by Genius Sonority and published by The Pokémon Company. It takes place in a desert region known as Orre, focusing on a silent protagonist named Wes. Wes is a former member of Team Snagem, a group that snags Pokémon from their trainers with the use of a device known as a Snag Machine. Wes steals said device and travels to Orre, hoping to do good. It isn't until he meets a girl named Rui.
Rui is captured by Team Snagem and after beating some of the grunts, has her join him on the journey. Rui has the ability to spot dark auras in Pokémon. They are known as Shadow Pokemon, creatures that have their hearts artificially shut and made as weapons. So Wes now must free the Shadow Pokémon by snagging them and purifying them. Along the way, the two will encounter many threats such as Team Cipher, an organization that has plans of their own. It becomes a battle to save the Orre region from their shadowy influence.
Pokémon Colosseum is a game released during Generation 3 aka RSE/FRLG. It's one of two games actually. This means that we're playing by Generation 3 rules and every battle you face will be double battles. Sometimes trainers will have more than 2 Pokémon so you will need to plan well if you want to win. Wes has an Espeon and Umbreon but how can you get more Pokémon? By snagging Shadow Pokémon. Many trainers will have Shadow Pokémon and it's your job to capture them. Once you do that, you must work in purifying them through battle. Trust me. It's a requirement.
We arrive in Part 1 and it's here we are introduced to Wes, Rui and what they must do. We'll continue in Part 2.
