Commentary
Sashimi! leaves Oldale town heading for Petalburg. Along the way a young trainer challenges him to a battle. After beating down the trainer's two Pokemon with his single one he get enthralled by the heat of battle. However, with one Pokemon he felt it necessary to avoid unneeded conflict. Just when Petalburg was within reach a tiny white bodied, green headed creature with a red horn on its head jumped out at him. Sashimi! threw a Poke ball at it. The Pokemon acquiesced and joined the boy's team. He decided to call her Skittle. Sashimi! reached Petalburg and immediately went to the Gym. When he entered a nostalgic air swarmed around him and standing a few meters ahead was Norman, his father. Before the boy could talk to his dad another boy barged into the Gym. He requested a Pokemon. Norman gave the boy a Poke ball and told him to go catch one on route 102 with Sashimi!. Once the task was completed Sashimi! and the boy Wally returned to the Gym. Wally left after returning the Pokemon he borrowed. Alone with his father Sashimi! strained to say a few words. Norman ignored him and told the boy to challenge the other Gym leaders. Sashimi! thought this the perfect opportunity to fight more thrilling battles like the one on Route 102. He told Norman he'll be back and left fro the next town. The next route was a beach with a dilapidated shack and fishing boat by the pier. Past the route lie a forest. Sashimi! went into it and made his way to its center. There a portly man approached him rambling one about a Shroomish, but his voice quivered as if he was anxious. Suddenly a man wearing a blue bandanna and a what looked like a pirate sailor's costume assaulted them. The blue sailor told the man to hand something over and the man refused. The sailor sent out his Pokemon, a black hyena. The portly man backed away in caution. Sashimi! sent out Twankie and the battle commenced. The Boy scared the sailor off. As he ran he screamed out he was part of Team Aqua. Grateful the portly man gave the boy a Great ball and headed north. Sashimi headed north as soon as he was about to exit a yellow green mushroom like Pokemon attacked him. After a few hits it was ready for the Poke ball. The creature resisted but after more weakening it came to join Sashimi! as Rolos.
