During your post-game quest, go to Meteor Falls and you’ll find a new room after using Waterfall. Deep in the new room, Steven is there. When you talk to him, he will challenge you to a battle. The levels of his team are 20 levels higher than when he was the champion. Skarmory will use Spikes to hurt those who switch out and poison them using Toxic. Claydol will combo with Reflect and Light Screen to reduce damage from opposing attacks. Aggron shouldn’t be too bad because it’s not good with special attacks except for a big prize move, Earthquake. Cradily will use Ingrain to restore HP but can’t switch out plus Giga Drain to add on with recovery. Armaldo will confuse opponents with Water Pulse and get some critical hits with Slash. Metagross will use Meteor Mash to raise its Attack stat and Shadow Ball for any Wonder Guard users. This is the only time you can battle Steven so bring in some high leveled components.
