It is a huge coincidence that the fight against Red is my 1000th video and I didn't plan this out until I rerouted my Platinum run.

I always tought sleep was similar to frozen with a chance to recover from it every turn, but Pikachu receives a counter at the start and it has to wait until it wakes up. This allowed me to use Quagsire's Yawn against it and it KO'd with Quick Attack. I needed to use one X-Speed and three X-Specials and I OHKO'd it the turn it woke up. I found Lapras was a common damage range with 3 X-Specials and I used a fourth one against Blastoise in the hope it would miss a Focus Blast. I could have not healed up against Snorlax, but I didn't want to get a high damage roll for Crunch. I played it save and I 2HKO'd it with Flamethrower. Venusaur and Charizard were no threat and I managed to beat Red in less than four minutes.

Saved at 3:36 with a L66 Typhlosion.

I was really satisfied with this run and my movement was overall a lot better. I could have played it safe a bit more, or be more risky at several situations. Red would still be the biggest problem, but I could beat him in only 90 minutes of resets with Quagsire instead of the hours and days of misery with Tangela.
