Pokémon News Galore! Mythical Pokémon; Red, Blue, Yellow Re-release; TCG BREAKpoint Prerelease!
9Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video!
- Once again, I've got two more Pokémon TCG booster packs to open up! Furious Fists and Phantom Forces, with the code cards (as always) going out to two lucky viewers. I'll open up the boosters near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day for you to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive one of these code cards (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, January 24th.
- This year marks the 20th anniversary of the initial creation of Pokémon! February 27th is the big day, and there is a lot of awesome stuff coming up in the world of Pokémon in honor of the anniversary. Check out http://www.pokemon20.com for more information! - The Pokémon cartoon series will be advancing into the next phase with the introduction of Pokémon the Series: XYZ, beginning in February. Airing Saturdays on Cartoon Network, the secrets of Zygarde's multiple forms will start coming to light, as well as the mystery of the unique "Ash-Greninja" Pokémon.
- Speaking of Ash-Greninja, this very same Pokémon is now available to encounter and capture in Pokémon Picross! Head to your Home Base and enter the password 34111425 to unlock the Ash-Greninja puzzle. Also, be sure to follow Nintendo of America on Twitter for more Pokémon Picross codes as they're released!

- In Pokémon Shuffle, act fast! Two Special Stages are going away today - Dusknoir, as well as Mewtwo, which has been released in celebration of 5 million downloads of Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. When battling Mewtwo, you're free to use as many items as you like with no coin cost to yourself, so have at it! (Also, FYI: Mewtwo is a VERY easy battle and capture.) Two other Pokémon are available in the Special Stage, Infernape and the Mythical Pokémon Arceus, and both will be available until Monday, January 26th.
- In celebration of #Pokemon20, February kicks off a year-long series of distributions of Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. These Pokémon will be available at GameStop stores and via download through the Nintendo Network. The first such Pokémon is the original Mythical Pokémon itself, Mew. - On February 27th, not only is it Pokémon's 20th birthday, but it's also the day that the original Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow games are being re-released for download as Virtual Console titles from the Nintendo eShop. Along with these digital downloads comes the release of a New Nintendo 3DS bundle, featuring a system that comes with Pokémon Red and Blue pre-installed, special Pokémon Red and Blue themes for your Home screen, and two cover places for the system featuring the original box art of Pokémon Red and Blue. True collector's items for Pokémon Trainers everywhere!
- Pokémon TCG: BREAKpoint prerelease tournaments are on the way! The new set isn't set to release until February, but at these prerelease tournaments at select Pokémon Leagues, Trainers will be able to get their hands on several 10-card booster packs of the new expansion weeks in advance of their sale date, and also get to participate in an on-the-spot deck build and tournament! I'll be in attendance at my local Pokémon League at Heroes' Beacon, performing my Professorly duties, and also see if I can bring you some highlights from the event and showcase a lot of the new cards as they're unwrapped.
- A new expansion in the Pokémon TCG has been announced: Generations. This expansion will harken back to where Pokémon all began - the Kanto region, beginning with those first steps into the world of Pokémon. Over 110 new cards will be included, featuring a whopping 16 Pokémon-EX, 4 of which will be Mega Evolutions. This expansion is also including the second-ever Radiant Collection, a 32-card subset featuring unique art of (I'm assuming) reprinted cards from past expansions.
