Hello, my name is Danny-Z and welcome to GamerU tips, tricks and tutorial videos for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. If you keep up with the competitive aspect of Pokemon, then you should remember a battle competition held a couple months ago called the Little Cup, where all Pokemon were reset to level five. You could only use unevolved Pokemon but haven't evolved such as Torchic, but not Pokemon that can Mega Evolve such as Kangaskhan; also, none of your Pokemon could hold the item Eviolite or have the moves Sonic Boom or Dragon Rage. The biggest difference between Little Cup and the average WiFi competition is the way that effort values make a difference. On the screen, you can see a level five Mienfoo that's fully invested in Attack and Speed; and here, you can see a Mienfoo that has a lot of, but not full, investment in Attack, Speed and a small amount of Defense. Now here are the stats of the fully invested Minefoo, and now the stats of the partially invested Mienfoo. If you look, the stats are almost exactly the same EXCEPT the partially invested Mienfoo has one more point of Defense. The reason is because a level five Pokemon requires less investment to increase a stat than a level 50 Pokemon; so, you can invest less EVs into a stat to get the same result as you would if you went with full investment. This can let you maximize your stats with minimal investment! Of course, not all Pokemon require the same investment, so if you look

there will be a link to a website with an interactive slider to help you figure out the minimum investment you need for whatever Pokemon you want. It's not too hard to use, and you should be able to test the teams you make as well.
