Pokémon Rumble Demo - Part 3 of 3
You were probably waiting for this to show up, huh? There's really no need to see this far if you have a Wii and can go online with it, as the demo is free. Why watch when you can play for yourself?
Another thing you might have been thinking if you're seriously considering this game is if you can paly online. Well, the answer is no. I touched upon this back in part 1, and this is the answer. You can't play this game online. Not sure why, but I guess Nintendo is still far more pessimistic than most companies about online play. It's just a bonus, but this thing is 1500 Wii Points. I'm sure Nintendo would still get massive profits if it brought in the manpower to put online play in here. The other possibility is the limited memory space in the Wii. I don't know how much memory online capability takes up, but this was about 132 blocks on the Wii memory, I believe, which is larger than all but the biggest Nintendo 64 games.
When I was playing through this area, I unfortunately lost to Arbok, as I wasn't really sure of what Swagger does in this game. So it seems my powerful little Squirtle has been reduced to a mere support Pokémon, unable to do damage. It causes the enemies to attack each other, but it's so very slow. By the time I figured out you're supposed to inflcit Swagger, then switch out to an attacker, Squirtle was near its limits and I was left with one Pokémon short when Arbok showed up at the end.
As it seems, the demo ends when you acquire a Pokémon whose power is 100 or more. So...I guess if you want to continue savoring the demo, try to avoid befriending any Pokémon whom you think is too powerful. Then again, you can't tell until you pick it up, and you'll be overwhelmed soon afterwards if you avoid all opportunities to befriend a Pokémon. Still, I could've finished this with the resources I had when I began, and I'd most likely be able to continue on for one more stage.
It's kind of funny that the demo takes me straight to the Wii Shop Channel. I only have 400 Wii Points at the moment, so I don't have enough to buy it anyway. I leave the Wii Shop Channel and call it a day.
