You may have noticed something odd at the end of the last video. If you watched that last one and closed the tab at where the game fades out, go back and see it again because I put a little something after the end of the match.

Well now, this is my first video featuring online matches of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. (I know New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Pokémon Rumble come out now, but you'll wait until later to see them.) BlazBlue is a traditional 2-D fighting game from the makers of the Guilty Gear series. BlazBlue was born out of a legal dispute. SEGA had 50% ownership with Arc System Works over the Guilty Gear name, but Arc wanted to keep it for itself. SEGA was ready to settle this dispute in court, but Arc decided to just sell its rights to SEGA and build a spiritual successor from the ground up, this time keeping the license for itself. That game is BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.

If you're familiar with Guilty Gear, you'll immediately recognize counterparts in this game. Ragna the Bloodedge bears quite a resemblance to Sol Badguy, and Jin Kisaragi to Ky Kiske. (Their behaviors are entirely different from their counterparts, however.) People have also compared Iron Tager to Potemkin, Litchi Faye-Ling to Cloudberry Jam, and Haku-men to Justice. You'll be seeing Tager here. He's the big guy. The REAL big guy. The others...you'll just have to wait until later.

By the way, don't ask me about the intricacies about this game, or even the not-so-intricate parts of it. I'm still just a beginner to this game--and to this genre, as my prior experience with fighting games is only Smash Bros., if you consider it one. (Some fighting game fans do; some don't.)

As my description turns out to be a bit too long, roll your cursor over the video to get a description of the match in progress.
