The next 7 Star Tera Raid Event is with another Starter Pokémon, it is against Cinderace, the Fire-type Starter from the Galar region, and this event is live from December 30th till January 1st, and there will be another Cinderace event in two weeks.
With the Charizard event, in between, we had an event with Tyranitar and Salamence, and my prediction will be Hydreigon and Dragapult, as they are version exclusive Pokémon, and it would be good to see that be next.
The Cinderace in the event is at Level 100 and has the Fighting Tera Type, and during the event, you can find Gengar and Gyarados in the Tera Raids, and about when I predicted that Slowbro would be one of the Pokémon, Gyarados is a solid option against Cinderace, because its Intimidate can lower Cinderace's Attack and it resists Pyro Ball and High Jump Kick.
Cinderace has High Jump Kick, Pyro Ball, Acrobatics, and Iron Head for its moves, and it can use Bulk Up, and it will have the Hidden Ability of Libero, which did get nerfed in this generation where it will only activate once per switch in, for example, if Cinderace uses High Jump Kick, it will remain a Fighting-type Pokémon until it switches out, and then it uses Iron Head, it can become a Steel-type until it switches out, the reason for the nerf was because Cinderace dominated the competitive scene with Libero, and even back in X & Y, Greninja had Protean for its Hidden Ability which was the same as Libero, and Greninja even got banned to the Uber tier. This is the first time ever you can catch Cinderace in anything other than a Poké Ball, which is a big thing whenever they do these special events.
I did train up an Azumarill for this event, and I decided to make one more originial, because most players tend to use Belly Drum with Azumarill, but it is very risky to do, because in many of my attempts, Cinderace's Acrobatics was taking away half of Azumarill's HP, and players would use Sylveon, which gets taken out by Iron Head in one hit, as Sylveon doesn't have good Defense to withstand Physcial Attacks. The set I tried out was Chilling Water and Mud-Slap to decrease Cinderace's stats, and I gave it Tera Blast so that when Terastallized to a Fairy-type, because Play Rough has 90 accuracy, and it can miss, while Tera Blast has 100 accuracy, but at the cost of 10 less power.
I did see players using Slowbro with Nasty Plot, Iron Defense, and Stored Power, while it is a good strategy, it does have to be wary of taking many of Cinderace's attacks, specially after all of those Bulk Up boosts, and I have seen Espathra as another option, because Espathra has Opportunist to copy its opponents stat boosts, so it gets the Attack and Defense boosts from Cinderace's Bulk Up, and Espathra has Feather Dance to decrease Cinderace's Attack and then get in some Special Defense decreases with Lumina Crash so that when Slowbro is ready to use Stored Power, it can deal heavy damage. Armarouge is a great option, because it can set up Psychic Terrain and deal heavy damage with Expanding Force, specially if paired with Slowbro and Espathra, or you can use Indeedee with Psychic Surge for support while the others get in some damage, and Armarouge resists most of Cinderace's attacks, but it has to watch out for Acrobatics.
Slowbro can even be used defensively, it can use Chilling Water to weaken Cinderace a bit, and another good option is Pelipper, which has Drizzle and also learns Chilling Water, and it can use Hurricane to get in some heavy hits.
With Cinderace now available in the game, there is data on the other Galar Starter Pokémon, I wouldn't mind seeing a Tera Raid Event themed around Rillaboom or Inteleon, so that way you can catch them in other Poké Balls like with Cinderace. I do like the choice of Gyarados and Gengar for the Event Tera Raids, Gyarados can have the Flying Tera Type, but the only Flying-type move it can learn is Hurricane, and that is a Special move, so the best you can do is teach it Tera Blast, while Gengar can have the Psychic Tera Type and it can learn Psychic. Gengar does come with the move Clear Smog, which you can use to remove Cinderace's stat boosts because it will be using Bulk Up quite a lot in the battle, the downside is Gengar cannot take hits that well in battle.
