Pokémon Shining Pearl Playthrough Part 11 (EXTRA #2 - Escorting Marley and Battling Shaymin!)
0NOTE: As of now, the only way to battle Shaymin is through a glitch. You originally need Oak's Letter to battle Shaymin, and chances are that this glitch will be patched out soon, so... yeah.
In this video, we team up with Marley and escort her through a cave! Afterwards we perform some glitchy magic to encounter Shaymin early!
For those wondering how to do the Shaymin glitch, there's quite a few tutorials up for it already, but I'll try to explain it in the best way possible. First, you need to make sure you haven't beaten Black Belt Carl yet. Defeat every trainer on the route around the stairs (such as the Ace Trainer and Dragon Tamer) before taking on Carl.
1. Turn Autosave off if you haven't already
2. Stand in front of the water where Carl is. You want to make sure that he walks down and directly spots you.
3. JUST as he's about to spot you, mash A like crazy. You'll get into a battle with him (he isn't too bad, he only has a Croagunk and a Machamp).
4. If you did this correctly, you should get the Surf prompt. Click yes to surf on land, then veryyyyyyy slowly make your way up to the big set of stairs in the back of the route.
5. Position yourself so your trainer's head is peeking out of the stairs, then save the game.
6. Restart the game. If you positioned yourself correctly, you'll be surfing still, but on a higher plane.
7. Slowly surf around and to the back of the route, you'll need to mount and dismount via Surf as you get to the right spot.
8. Ride your bike all the way to Flower Paradise where Shaymin is.
