Pokemon Soul Silver Egglocke is FINALLY here! The Egglocke is my favorite nuzlocke variant in Pokemon games for sure, and I can't wait to show you guys some of the action Pokemon HGSS has to offer! Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver are some of the best Pokemon games out there, and is a spectacular remake of Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver and even Pokemon Crystal in some ways! While the Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Co-Op Egglocke is going on by both GalacticElliot and I, as well as my own ORAS Egglocke, we are bringing you yet ANOTHER Egglocke; The Pokemon Soul Silver Egglocke! If you are not familiar with what the Egglocke rules consist of, please read below so you can follow-up and play along with us on our journey to the Johto region in Pokemon HGSS! This IS a Nuzlocke variant, so of course, we will have some simple Nuzlocke rules in the Egglocke format.
EGGLOCKE RULES:
1. You are ONLY allowed to catch the first Pokemon in a certain route, area, city/town, or cave. If you fail to catch or end up killing the first Pokemon you encounter, you will be UNABLE to catch ANY other Pokemon in that same area, and will have to go Pokemon-less for that area.
2. If a Pokemon faints, it is basically like death; you will be unable to EVER use that Pokemon again, not even as an HM slave! So take good care of your Pokemon, because if one dies, you will never be able to use it again! You can store that fainted Pokemon in your PC or release it, because either way, they can never be touched again.
3. Since this is an EGGLOCKE, every Pokemon you catch in a certain route, area, city/town or cave will be replaced with an egg that is in your PC. These eggs were received by YOU guys, the viewers, when we asked for you all to send us eggs, so we will be able to use what you guys sent us. After hatching the Pokemon that was replaced with your newest encounter, you must level up that new egg Pokemon up to the Pokemon's level that you just caught. The easiest way to do this is by getting the Rare Candy cheat code and using the Rare Candy to level up the egg Pokemon to the same level of the Pokemon you just caught. Then, that Pokemon is yours for the rest of the Egglocke... unless it dies.
4. Dupes/Species clause DOES play a role in this. Not for the Pokemon in the new area, but for the Pokemon that hatches out of the egg. For example, if I were to hatch a Charmander in the beginning of the game, and were to hatch another Charmander later on in the game, that Charmander that you got most recently would be replaced by yet another egg you would try hatching.
5. If ALL Pokemon faint in the user's party, then the challenge is declared to be over, and in this case, the Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver (HGSS) Egglocke will be forfeited and the series will be over.
The Egglocke rules for this Pokemon Soul Silver Egglocke are pretty simple once you get the hang of it! We sincerely hope you enjoy these episodes, and all support is appreciated. The memories are back at it, and with 2nd gen being remade with 4th gen graphics and mechanics that HGSS brings to us, we are ready for lift-off once again!
