In this episode I catch my fifth team member, Lapras! Who's that Pokemon is obvious here.
Pokemon Review: Lapras
Lapras is an interesting Water/Ice type. It is bulky with it's HP, Defense, and Special Defense. It also has nice Attacking stats. The best part about Lapras is that it is that you can use it as a Physical Tank and a Special Tank.
At level 20, Lapras isn't too great. At level 22 it learns Rain Dance, which can be combined with Thunder (yes, it can actually learn Thunder) for perfect accuracy. At 27 it learns the quite useful Perish Song. If you have to deal with a Gym Leader's last Pokemon hat's really tough, use Perish Song and stall it for 3 turns. Ice Beam is what makes Lapras so good, because it can learn it at 32. This means you don't have to rely on Blizzard for the first half of the game, whos 30% chance of missing can mess the battle up.
TM and HM-wise, it learns these good moves:
Ice Beam (Don't need to waste the TM though, it learns it via Level-up)
Rain Dance (Don't need to waste the TM though, it learns it via Level-up)
Thunderbolt
Thunder (Combine with Rain Dance for perfect accuracy)
Surf
Waterfall
It can also learn Whirlpool, but get a temporary HM Slave for that like Krabby or Gyarados.
