We have many Normal-type Pokémon in this battle, I lead with Chansey while the CPU leads with Lickitung, I wanted to see how much Chansey can do at the start, even if there is Lickitung's Hyper Beam to watch out for, but I didn't want the Pokémon that switched in to take the Hyper Beam. I wanted to let Chansey faint so that I can send in Tentacruel and use Barrier to make Hyper Beam deal less damage, and as I don't have the best team for this battle, I will try to rely on Tentacruel for most of the battle.
I do have Houndour for an easy win against Drowzee, while also having the type advantage for Chikorita, but I do have Weezing for backup for most of the CPU team in case I need to use Selfdestruct to get in some damage on one of the CPU Pokémon.
Tentacruel's main use isn't only for Lickitung, it's also to take Azumarill's attacks well, I don't need Magikarp or Cleffa for most of the battle, Magikarp isn't going to be much help, and Cleffa can at least get in some hits before going down, but when the CPU has Clefairy which isn't going to be an easy opponent when it has Psychic to deal with Weezing and Tentacruel. To fight Pidgey, my best choice is Weezing, as it can take Pidgey's attacks well, and there isn't many opponents that I need to use Selfdestruct against, as that would mean I would not having Weezing for the rest of the battle, and I do want to have it for Chikorita, as Houndour doesn't take Body Slam that well, even when switching it in.
