This week, I will be trading Yamper through Surprise Trade, and I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats. The Nature I went with is Jolly, and from looking at Yamper's stats, it has really low Speed, but when it evolves into Boltund, Speed is its highest stat, Yamper has base 26 Speed, and Boltund has base 121 Speed, and some of the Yamper have the Hidden Ability of Rattled, this turns into Competitive when evolved, otherwise Ball Fetch, a helpful Ability on Yamper when going through the game, turns into Strong Jaw when it evolves.
For Egg Moves, I went with Discharge, Flame Charge, Double-Edge and Howl, Yamper does get Sand-Attack as an Egg Move as well, I will list which parents in the Field Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Discharge: Pikachu, Raichu, A-Raichu, Jolteon, Electrike, Manectric, Shinx, Luxio, Luxray, Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru
Double-Edge: Tauros, Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Dunsparce, Zigzagoon, G-Zigzagoon, Linoone, G-Linoone, Hippopotas, Hippowdon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon, Stufful, Bewear, Passimian, Scorbunny, Raboot, Cinderace, Wooloo, Dubwool, Obstagoon
Flame Charge: Ponyta, Rapidash, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Scorbunny, Raboot, Cinderace
Howl: Growlithe, Arcanine, Whismur, Loudred, Exploud, Electrike, Manectric, Rockruff, Lycanroc
Sand Attack: Sandshrew, Sandslash, Diglett, A-Diglett, Dugtrio, A-Dugtrio, Farfetch'd, G-Farfetch'd, Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Zigzagoon, G-Zigzagoon, Linoone, G-Linoone, Hippopotas, Hippowdon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Purrloin, Liepard, Sandile, Krokorok, Krookodile, Scraggy, Scrafty, Sylveon, Rockruff, Lycanroc, Silicobra, Sandaconda, Obstagoon, Sirfetch'd

The one thing I like about Yamper's Egg Moves is that it helps Yamper's early game, because its starting moves are Tackle and Tail Whip, and having Double-Edge early on gives it a powerful Normal-type move for the early game, and Discharge fixes its lack of a good Electric-type move for a while, because Yamper learns Nuzzle at Level 5, and it isn't until Level 20 that it learns Spark, which does make things hard for it early on.
For the rest of Yamper's level up moves, it can learn Bite, Roar, Charm, Crunch, Charge, Wild Charge, and Play Rough, it evolves into Boltund at Level 25, and it can learn Electrify and Electric Terrain.
Next are TMs and TRs, I will be going over what Boltund can learn, it can get Thunder Wave, Dig, Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Swift, Volt Switch, Snarl, and Eerie Impulse, and for TRs, it can learn Thunderbolt, Agility, Focus Energy, Hyper Voice, Bulk Up, Electro Ball, and Psychic Fangs for possible moves, and it can learn Rising Voltage for its Tutor move.
With a high Speed stat, that is one thing good about Boltund, and while it has good offensive stats, base 90 does feel kind of average when most of the top sweepers have base 110 or higher for Attack or Special Attack, and it is not easy to compete with them in the competitive scene. Strong Jaw is better for Boltund when using a Physical set, as it can learn moves like Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Psychic Fangs, and Crunch, and a good set it can use is Electrify while it is holding a Cell Battery, that way the opponent's move becomes an Electric-type move, and that can give Boltund a free Attack boost. Boltund can use Volt Switch as a way to switch out, and as for its Hidden Ability Competitive, this is better on Special sets, but the downside is Boltund doesn't get that many Special Attacks, all it gets is Thunderbolt and Snarl, and that's about it, unless you want to give it Hyper Beam for a 150 Power Max Strike when Dynamaxed. Boltund can use Nuzzle to paralyze its opponents, and it can use moves to lower opponent's stats, like Charm and Eerie Impulse, but those see more use in Double Battles.
Boltund is a decent support Pokémon in Double Battles if it has access to moves like Helping Hand and Snarl, a good strategy is that it can use Electrify on a Dynamaxed teammate to make them use Max Lightning, that way the Electric Terrain can activate, and Boltund can use Rising Voltage to deal huge damage to opponents, Competitive is a good Ability on Boltund, that way if it is affected by an Attack drop from an Intimidate user, Boltund will get a free +2 Special Attack boost.
I have used two different Boltund for online battles, a Physical Attacker with Strong Jaw for Single Battles, and I have used a Special Attacker with Competitive for Double Battles, and it is a good Pokémon when going through the game. While it has a rough start where Nuzzle is its main Electric-type move until Spark at Level 20, Discharge does help Yamper out in the early game, and Flame Charge to deal with Grass-type Pokémon is a good move to have, it is a good Electric-type in the main game with its high Speed and good attacking stats.
