It is time to begin the Hard Path, and this is much harder than the previous paths. To access the Hard Path, you have to take the secret path in Corneria, which will then lead to Sector Y, which is a combat zone filled with enemy ships, and Fox has to shoot down many enemies to progress further.

Time for the Hard Path, and in order to access Sector Y, what you have to do is rescue Falco, and then fly through the stone arches, and Falco will then lead you through an alternate path, and when you shoot down an enemy he is targeting, he would say "Back off, Fox!"
The boss on the alternate path is the Attack Carrier, its weak points are the hatches when it opens them to shoot missiles, and once they are destroyed, the Attack Carrier can be taken down by shooting at it, and once that is done, it is time to move onto Sector Y.

The Sector Y Combat Zone has a bunch of battleships, and you will want to defeat as many enemies as you can, and depending on your performance, either Falco or Peppy will tell you based on how many were shot down. Slippy will then try to pick a fight with the enemies, and as a result, he is under attack by enemies. You can shoot down the cannons, as that will count as hits, and when breaking through the fleet, ROB64 sends supplies to Fox, and we then enter All-Range Mode.
The boss fight is against the Shogun Warriors, which were created in the weapons lab at Macbeth, and are used in the boss fight. They are really easy, they take 3 hits to defeat them by firing lasers at them, but it is not over yet, the Shogun Warlord enters the fight, and I do like his quote "Cocky little freaks!", when the Shogun lands on his ship, Saruzin, this does leave him open to attack, shoot him till he is down.
If you have scored 100 hits, you can continue on to Aquas on the Hard Path, if you scored less than 100 hits, it will take you to Katina, and you need 150 hits in order to obtain the medal for Sector Y.
