I am using Gengar in this match, back when the game first launch, Gengar was overpowered, to the point it was considered to be the most broken Pokémon in the game, it got some nerfs in some updates, I will list the other players as well.
Badeny - Gardevoir
Gonozal - Crustle
Veister_11 - Charizard
ivaan21 - Pikachu

The opponent's team of Pokémon.
Mamba42 - Zeraora
vugvug24 - Gengar
Asch2405 - Venusaur
Faith457 - Cramorant
leoStokes - Mr. Mime

The weekly rotation for this week is Cinderace, Gengar, Mr. Mime, and Garchomp, so I decided to use Gengar for this match, as it was once the most overpowered Pokémon in the game back when it first launched.
Gengar's role is Speedster, and it is a Melee style Pokémon for some reason, despite some of Gengar's moves having range. It starts off matches as Gastly, and its basic attack becomes a boosted attack for every three attacks, and it deals increased damage to nearby Pokémon when it hits.
For its starting moves, Gastly has Lick and Will-O-Wisp, I recommend starting with Will-O-Wisp, and it tends to do better in the Central Area, because it is very frail defensively, and I don't recommend going into combat until at least Level 5 or 7. Will-O-Wisp deals damage to opposing Pokémon and leaves them burned, and Lick pulls opposing Pokémon towards Gastly.
At Level 5, Gastly will evolve into Haunter, and it will learn Shadow Ball or Sludge Bomb, they replace Will-O-Wisp. Shadow Ball is a ranged move that decreases the movement speed and Special Defense of opposing Pokémon for a short time when it hits. Sludge Bomb inflicts poison to opposing Pokémon by throwing sludge at a designated area.
At Level 7, Haunter will learn Dream Eater or Hex, they replace Lick. Dream Eater puts opposing Pokémon in a Sleepy State, when used again, it sneaks up behind the opposing Pokémon and attacks, dealing damage to them and healing Haunter of that damage, and it reduces the cooldown for Shadow Ball or Sludge Bomb. Hex has Haunter disappear and reappear in a designated location, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in its area of effect, if it hits an opposing Pokémon that is affected by a status condition, it deals increased damage and has reduced cooldown.
At Level 9, Haunter will evolve into Gengar, and its Unite Move is Phantom Ambush, which it learns at Level 9. Gengar jumps into a designated area, and starts sneaking with increased movement speed, if used again, it deals damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreases their movement speed for a short time.
At Level 11, Shadow Ball or Sludge Bomb will be upgraded, Shadow Ball deals increased damage, and Sludge Bomb increases the poison effect's duration. At Level 13, Dream Eater or Hex will be upgraded, Dream Eater has increased damage and the amount of HP Gengar heals when used, and Hex has increased damage dealt when using the move.
Gengar's Ability is Levitate, which increases its movement speed when it is not in combat. For held items, Gengar works well with either the Fluffy Tail or Eject Button, Fluffy Tail to help against wild Pokémon while it is a Gastly during the early game. The best held items for Gengar are Wise Glasses, Sp. Atk. Specs, and Shell Bell, as Gengar is a Special Attacker. As it is a Speedster, Gengar has very good Mobility and Offense, but it doesn't have the best Endurance, Scoring, and Support.
Its best moves are Sludge Bomb and Hex, this was what made Gengar very overpowered back when the game first released, because Hex's cooldown is reduced if it deals damage to a Pokémon inflicted with a status condition, and it was so overpowered, Hex got nerfed in an update, but Gengar does still remain a very powerful threat, it has a tough time against Blissey, specially with the recent update that buffed Blissey's Special Defense and Safeguard.
While Gengar is preferred in the Central Area, it can work in the lanes once it is at least Level 5 or 7, when it has learned Sludge Bomb and Hex, so that way it can take out opposing Pokémon with that devastating combo.
