Pop_OS! 20.04 LTS and Solus are two of the best Linux distros out! The reason for this comparison is I myself am trying to make a decision of what to use as my daily driver. First we will overview and compare them and then run down the pro's and con's of each distro.

Pop_OS!: Pop_OS! is a fork of Ubuntu created by System76. The popular Linux based computer manufacturer. Pop_OS! was released late 2017. This distro doesn't come with unnecessary any software of bloat. Only the items required for general computing; however, they make installing everything you need easy to do via their Pop_Shop. According to System76 the target consumer for Pop!_OS STEM and creative professionals.

Solus: Unlike Pop_OS! Solus was built from scratch. What really sets this distro apart this their custom desktop environment called "Budgie", built completely in house. Solus seems to cater to the average user. On their website it reads, "Solus is an operating system that is designed for home computing. Every tweak enables us to deliver a cohesive computing experience." Solus is developed for the use on personal computers and unlike most distributions it does not have any industry specific versions. This distro has been around since 2015.
