A lot of people think that the lost map "testchmb_a_12" was either a miscount when naming maps or a chamber made to introduce the green pellets, and these are both valid theories. However, when researching Prospekt era, I came to the realization that a particular map that *should* exist, name of "lab_lvl2," is noticeably absent. all other "intro_lvl#" and "lab_lvl#" maps are known, so I've come to the theory that testchmb_a_12 was the Aperture themed version of whatever lab_lvl2 may have been.
As a result of this, I've come up with this proof of concept chamber. I figure that the test would *not* have been green pellets, as those are clearly introduced in lab_lvl1.
This leaves us with any non-green-pellet cut concepts from Portal 1 that may have existed in Prospekt era. To that end, I can only think of two concepts that may have existed during the era: The enigmatic laser turrets, and the tutorial-less crushers/pistons that we see in the final game.
Here is a chamber I devised using the laser turret pedestals (which are noticeably Prospekt-like in their appearance.) I didn't get the turrets to actually turn towards the player, unfortunately. I probably could have using func_tanks and enemy finders, but, well, to be frank, that was too much work for me, so instead I tried to place them more into the universe of Portal by naming them after their Portal 2 equivalents.
