I wondered, why were they going north when they want to meet the Mentor in Antartica (AA)? I hope I can find the answer today.

Based on a novel by Rob Swigart, Portal (http://www.mobygames.com/game/apple2/portal) was an interactive fiction published by Activision in 1986 for the Apple ][. Portal feels more like an e-book than a typical adventure game, as the player does not face any danger from accessing the computer terminal.
