Portal Revolution acts as a fanmade prequel to Portal 2 where you, an anonymous test subject, are being used by a personality core to experiment with new devices to repair the damaged laboratories. The entire game is made free of charge and hosts 7 chapters for a total of around two hours of gameplay (considering you know all the solutions to the puzzles).
A few mechanics are new, such as suction vents and paired laser cubes (both which never appeared in Portal 2).

✅ GAME TIPS
- Discouragement Redirection Cubes and Edgeless Safety Cubes (aka the laser box and the white ball) can both be used on the red buttons instead of boxes, which as trick is an integral part of most puzzles in this mod.
- Often you'll need to redirect lasers directly through glass panels where a laser point is hidden behind, which at first sight doesn't look very logical. They will simply laser through them, however, and it's required to access exits in some puzzles.
- You can safely grab any item in the game and fly through portals without them getting stuck or left behind, even at high speeds.
- The game has an inherent mechanic which will guide you roughly through the portal's centerpoint when flying back and forth, to prevent random landing results from happening. This is important to remember, because many puzzles only have one solution to them.
- In the middle section of the game, many portable surfaces are hard to see at first sight. If you are stuck and don't see a way out, try to hit whiteish surfaces or panels to see if you missed a passageway.
✅ LEVEL TIPS
- The hidden room with the cardboard map is purely optional. You can skip it if you wish.
- In section 2 you only need to press jump once when standing against the double blue gel walls. The bouncing back and forth will happen automatically.
- When getting launched through the pipe at the start of section 3, the camera does not follow with the flow. You are free to look around as you wish, however.
- In section 5 there are two ways to reach the exit. The method shown in the video additionally unlocks an achievement. The alternative method is to use the speed gel to accelerate quickly enough to bounce off the middle platform through your portals and jump onto the catwalk.
- In section 6 you are essentially free to splatter the white gel pretty much anywhere you want. The method in the video, however, is the fastest I've been able to do it thus far. I'm sure other players could speedrun this a lot faster still, although the most important thing to remember is to be able to land onto the vacuum tubes. You can land onto ledges that show see-through areas in the second part of this section.
- Rarely, the cube in section 8 may at random land on the super button on its own (as it did in the video). Most of the time, however, you'll have to pick it up and place it yourself .
