Nothing special here. just portal maps without lighting being lit by the self illuminated materials. They bounce and light the room up. But this doesnt work very well in escape maps since they have less self illuminated lights. Im's sorry i couldnt cover everything in this video. Kinda got sick by the source recording feature. Glados's chamber is completely lit by the self illum texture on top of the map. you may think this looks like crap, i agree with you but its also fascinating.

You can disable all the enhanced materials and the room youre in will go completely dark
