1Portal Stories: Mel is a mod for Portal 2, developed and published by Prism Studios in 2015. This mod tells the story of Mel, a test subject who must escape Aperture's underground after spending decades in stasis, similar to Chell from the base game. After waking up, she find the facility in ruins and follows Cave Johnson to find her own version of the Portal Gun, only to find it wasn't Cave that was guiding her, but rather a maintenance core, Virgil, helping her escape. To fully escape, however, not only do they need to solve test chambers they must navigate through, they need to disable a prototype security system who deems them both a threat.
