58Hey I’m Josh from Adelaide, South Australia. I'm a proud father of 3 and passionate about heavy music.
I was the bass player for post-hardcore/alternative rock group Capulet from 2004-2012, releasing an album, EP and several demos.
Capulet were signed to the Taperjean Music Group alongside Closure in Moscow and The Mission in Motion.
Highlights of my music career were playing with amazing bands like Anberlin, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Haste the Day, Awaken I Am, and touring Australia several times.
I wasn’t the most technical bass player, but lived for performing on stage. I have always loved the process of song writing and the visual art that accompanies music.

This song has been in motion for 18 months or so, with versions bounced back and forth a hundred times over. Sometimes you write a song about one thing, but by the time it sees the light of day, the raw feelings have evolved and the song challenges its own existence. It took honest conversations about why any of this matters to feel confident enough that it was time.
Hurricane is a nod to the past, a cautious step towards an unknown future, and an honest, heartfelt acknowledgement of the present. What’s next is still without shape or certainty, but the wheels are turning.
This is the first step.

I’m bound up and broken, caught out in the open, tape over my mouth, with so much left unsaid. Like gathering thunder, we spoke over each other, now strangers tied to opposite sides of the bed.
You say that I’m careless, unkind and defensive, when all I want is someone there to hold me close. I don’t mean to be heartless,
I’m trying my hardest to think before I speak, but I’m voiceless…
I’ll bide my time, watch the hurricane blow by and the clouds run dry. I’ll bite my tongue, and hold on ’til my hands go numb or the quiet comes.
Soaked through to my skin but I don’t feel any different.
I’m a shivering mess of doubt and recklessness.
I know it’s my fault I’m stuck out here in the cold but it’s hard letting go of what I wish you’d said

Don’t tell me I’m broken, as I’m blowing out to sea.
Don’t leave me high and dry. It’s swirling over me, as I spin in slow motion; a tide of chattering teeth. Unravel and unwind.
White-knuckled, nails torn from grasping the boards as the storm rages inside of me. Opened my mouth, tried to force something out, but I’m just too exhausted to speak.
