Pot of Spiders Boss in the Crypt Custodian Demo (No Damage / Hard Difficulty)
13I was kindly given an early key so here is the first boss for the upcoming game Crypt Custodian made by the developer of Islets and Sheepo. I'm not sure how much hard difficulty impacts the fight vs normal and easy (the description for difficulty suggested it does affect patterns) but it's done without taking damage. Very fun fight and it'll be awesome to see what additional bosses await Pluto in the afterlife.
The aesthetics are very familiar to anyone who played Islets. Iframes from your dodge roll are pretty generous (it seems to last slightly after the roll ends). While other super moves could be purchased in the demo I kept the basic one. You also have a charm system where you can equip various upgrades (the only one I found was 30% increased damage at 1HP) that have varying costs. Death is a slap on the wrist and sends you back to the previous save point (which you can also teleport between from the get-go). I could only heal at save points but found that not too terrible, although there are a number of enemy gauntlets to go through. There are also a few puzzles for progressing and a rather large map that may have alternate ways to reach the same destination.
Overall, this looks incredible and something you should keep an eye on. This demo will be publicly available on January 29th.
