Potholes Longplay (Commodore 64 Game) -

Potholes is an overhead racing game released for the Commodore 64, developed by Brent Kapilik and published in the May 1988 issue of Commodore Magazine. The game focuses on a simple yet engaging concept: the player must navigate a vehicle through an area filled with potholes. The objective is to avoid these hazards and rack up points, adding a strategic element to the racing experience.

The graphics are minimalistic, emphasizing gameplay over detailed visuals. This approach is typical of many Commodore 64 games, where the challenge and enjoyment stem from the gameplay mechanics rather than graphical fidelity.

However, the game doesn't increase in difficulty, nor does the speed ramp up, leaving players to repeat the same task—avoiding potholes—over and over. While it's enjoyable at first, it inevitably becomes monotonous after a while. After cruising for almost three minutes straight, I decided to steer to the right side of the track and effectively end my game.
