POWKIDDY RGB10MAX3 ROCKNIX (Linux CFW) Quick Setup Guide
21In this video, I'm providing a quick set up guide on how to install ROCKNIX (Linux CFW) on my RGB10MAX3.
ROCKNIX (20241029) quick setup steps:
• Go to the latest ‘release’ of the ROCKNIX GitHub page, scroll down to the ‘installation’ section, download the image/package for the RGB10MAX3 (20241029.img.gz – zipped file): https://github.com/ROCKNIX/distribution/releases
• Unzip/extract the downloaded zip file to get the disk image file
• I will be using a dual (2) micro-SD card setup: the OS (in TF1) and the games/roms (in TF2)
• Insert the micro-SD card in your PC, if it’s a brand-new micro-SD card, no need to format it, if it’s a used micro-SD card, you need to format it using ‘SD Card Formatter’
• Flash/copy/write the ROCKNIX image file on the 1st (OS) micro-SD card (using Rufus or balenaEtcher)
• Take the micro-SD card out, insert it back in your device (label facing down) in TF1 and the 2nd (blank) games/roms micro-SD card (also label facing down) in TF2
• Boot up/turn on your device (to extend the file partition), shut the device down, take out the 2nd games/roms micro-SD card and put it back in your PC to copy your bios & roms
• Hotkeys: Exiting a game: start+select (twice), exiting a PSP game: L3+R3
Adding more themes (in ThemeMaster):
• Go to ThemeMaster (follow the instructions): https://johnirvine1433.github.io/ThemeMaster/
• Download the latest version of ThemeMaster (in the ‘Installation’ section)
• Open the zip file and extract the ‘ThemeMaster.sh’ file and ‘ThemeMaster’ folder
• Place ‘ThemeMaster.sh’ and ‘ThemeMaster’ folder in /storage/roms/ports
• Run ‘ThemeMaster’ from ‘Ports’ menu (on your device)
