PPSSPP Linux on Intel HD4400 / DefJam Fight For NY: The Takedown (PSP) 1440x816 60fps
DefJam FFNY is a multi-console legend and is its own genre - a non-stop diss and slugfest that stands the test of time. This PSP entry stays true to the console in gameplay but lacks the very entertaining animated intro and cutscenes of its console cousins.
Games in PPSSPP run flawlessly on this system. Gameplay was at 1440x816 60fps and recording was at 1280x720 60fps - all while the PC was running an extended desktop across 2 monitors at different resolutions. As usual the video was then edited and exported on this same PC.
PC: Dell Inspiron 3647
CPU: i3 4150 3.5GHz (2-core 4-thread)
GPU: Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics (system-shared memory)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 (1600MHz)
SSD: 240 GB Kingston
HDD: USB 2.0 External Samsung 320GB 2.5" mechanical drive
OS: Linux Mint 22.1 XFCE
This Dell Inspiron 3647 is a small form factor (SFF) PC with built in wifi, bluetooth, card reader and DVD drive. The one thing it is missing is extra motherboard and power connections for an additional storage drive but the speedy USB 3 ports and internal SSD make using external drives painless. It has room for a single-slot low-powered graphics card (pci-e gen 3) but even the stock HD 4400 does not keep it from being an excellent daily driver in 2025.
Thanks for watching!
