Practicing Mindfulness - How to Practice - Mindfulness in its simplest form is paying close attention. For most our days (actually entire lives) we are engaging with life though conceptual thought. That is, we are interacting not with what is actually happening but with our preconceived ideas about what is happening.

It is just like watching a video on YouTube about visiting the Taj Mahal but never actually seeing it with your own eyes. The difference is that big.

Mindfulness, intelligent and even affection attention is the remedy for that. But, because we are so habituated into the thinking mind, it takes sincere practice to break that habit. But before that can happen we have to recognize that we need to.
