Competition. It's everywhere.

It's in the language of sports, academics, work, business. Even the Abrahamic religions have a competition going on between Yahweh and Satan.

Yes, humans do like to compete and there are many who justify the currrent state of the world by insisting that human nature is inherently competitive.

But it just isn't so. There is just as much evidence of cooperation and collaboration than there is of competition. No, that wrong. There is more evidence for cooperation.

I mean team sports, for crying out loud. They may be competing but their success is due to the teamwork.

Many years ago I did a computer system for the Chicago Bulls. It was during the early Michael Jordan years. (For those of you who don't know Michael Jordan is regarded as one of the best, if not the best, basketball player of all time.)

But, they had not yet been winning championships. The coaches confided in me that they were trying to get Michael to use his team and lead rather than always go for the glory.

He eventually learned how to play, not as the star, but as the leader and the Bulls went on to have a dynasty, winning championship after championship.

Lisa will tell our story how we collaborate on these shows in the next episode but we keep coming up with ideas because we aren' competing with each other or with anyone else making a YouTube channel.
