Predator: Killer of Killers Co-Director Joshua Wassung on Making That INSANE Oner in Animation
Collider’s Steve Weintraub chats with Joshua Wassung, the CCO and co-founder of visualization studio The Third Floor. Most recently, Wassung re-teamed with writer-director Dan Trachtenberg to continue their collaboration after 2022’s Prey. Wassung served as co-director for Trachtenberg’s latest continuation of the Predator franchise with Predator: Killer of Killers, an animated feature-length anthology that brings this iconic saga to life in a whole new way.
In this interview, Wassung breaks down some of the film’s trickiest sequences, discusses creating an animated one-shot, and talks about previous projects he’s been a part of, from Marvel to Star Wars. The co-director shares how the groundwork they set in Prey inspired shots for Killer of Killers, touches on what it was like crafting their first feature-length animated project, how they utilized Game Engine and learned for future endeavors, and more.
