If you speak to anyone who’s played the game, they’re likely to rate it highly and the review scores averaged around the 8 out of 10 mark but its rarely mentioned in conversation or top 5’s or top 10 lists and the sales were 60% lower than Arkane Studio’s previous title, Dishonored 2.
The game was marketed poorly and the bad decision to hold back review copies until the release date didn’t help alongside the confusion around there being another, totally unrelated, game called Prey, which had a cancelled sequel planned for 2014. For anyone who’s never played the 2017 Prey before, I’m hoping you’ll be willing to give it a second look by the end of this video though.
