Prey Walkthrough Gameplay Part 1 on ASUS TUF A15 [Ryzen 5] [Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti] Full HD (1080p):
First Day on the Job
The game starts with selecting the protagonist's gender and the difficulty level (suggestions concerning the difficulty level can be found in the Several general rules page). You are located in an apartment. You might want to look around since there is a lot of objects to collect, notes to add to the journal, and 3 e-mails on the computer to read in it. To advance the quest, interact with the Suit hung on the wall.
- Reaching the chopper on the roof
- Going to the testing center
Break Out
Getting out of the apartment
You can investigate the apartment again (attention - you've lost all items and notes that you picked up in the prologue!) or put on the Suit right away and exit the apartment. In the corridor, you'll find dead Patricia. Be sure to grab the Wrench shown in picture 1. This item becomes your basic weapon and remains useful even after you find a Shotgun or Pistol later on.
You can exit the apartment in numerous ways, for example, by destroying the aquarium in the corridor or breaking the window in the apartment (image 2). Leaving the starting area will help you enter the Simulation Labs of the Neuromod Division.
An Office With a View
Reaching the office
You start exploring Talos I Lobby on the second level and have to reach the protagonist's office which is located on the third level (this is the first big location so it's a good idea to look at the map often). Begin by investigating the corridor up front, as the corpse found next to the long sofa has valuable items (the loot are generated randomly, and will differ in each instance).
Go down the stairs to the first level and head south, going through the central part of the Lobby (with the broken main elevator). Reach the stairs located in the southwestern corner of the map. Go up to the third level.
Playing the video
Select the last bookmark from the computer's menu.
There are many valuable items (including a few neuromods found the desk and a GLOO Cannon Ammo Fabrication Plan in the safe)) and interactive devices to be found in the protagonist's office, although looking for them is completely optional. The most important thing is to interact with Yu's computer. Select the third bookmark (Utilities) and confirm the will to play the video which then will be displayed behind you. Having watched the (incomplete) video, listen to Alex Yu's and January's commentary. The mission is over.
Prey is a first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released worldwide on 5 May 2017, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It takes place in an alternate timeline that resulted in an accelerated Space Race and humankind taking to orbital stations far earlier. The player controls Morgan Yu while exploring the space station Talos I, in orbit around Earth–Moon L2, where they were part of a scientific team researching the Typhon, a hostile alien force composed of many forms with both physical and psychic powers, such as shapeshifting into a clone of any inanimate object. As the Typhon escape confinement, the player uses a variety of weapons and abilities derived from the Typhon to avoid being killed while looking to escape the station. The player gains access to areas of the station by acquiring key items and abilities, eventually allowing the player to explore the station in an open world setting. The game combines elements of role-playing video games, stealth games, immersive sims and Metroidvanias in its design.
Arkane's Prey is largely unrelated to the 2006 game Prey developed by Human Head Studios, and is considered a reimagining of the intellectual property set in a new narrative. While Prey 2, a sequel to the 2006 game, had been planned by Human Head, it fell into development hell following transfer of the intellectual property from 3D Realms to Bethesda Softworks, and was eventually cancelled in 2014. Arkane's game does not use any of the planned sequel's assets, and only incorporates the previous game's name and the broad theme of the protagonist being hunted by aliens. Arkane built Prey as a spiritual sequel to System Shock, providing the player with several potential means of progressing within the game, while considering the Talos I station a thematic reinterpretation of their underground dungeon of their first game, Arx Fatalis.
Prey was positively reviewed by critics at release and considered one of the best games of 2017 by several gaming magazines and websites. Two expansions were released: Mooncrash, a procedurally-generated mode inspired by various roguelike games, and a multiplayer Typhon Hunt that incorporates the Typhon shapeshifting abilities in a hide-and-seek style game.
