It feels like we're paying more for everything – and there's data to back it up. The U.S. Labor Department said consumer prices have increased 7% in the last year, the biggest inflation rate in nearly 40 years.

James Gailbraith, an economist and professor at the University of Texas at Austin's LBJ School of Public Affairs, joined KVUE Midday to explain what's happening.
