Prince of Persia 2 Xbox Port Playthrough - Modded with Fixed Jumps!
9This is a pretty rare port of Prince of Persia 2. It was created for the Xbox version of Sands of Time (Sands of Time also includes a port of the Mac version of POP1 in the Xbox, GC, and PS2 versions of the game... with PC getting no bonus, unfortunately). There is one other playthrough of this on Youtube, but mine is unique in that way that I'm playing with a mod that I created that improves the running jumping mechanics!
The running jump mechanic is a bit cursed, and I applied changes to make it function the same as in POP1, where it feels more responsive and more reliable to execute. And unlike what I say in this video, I was able to apply the same changes to the v1.0 DOS version as well. Corrections to a few things I said during the video:
- The hidden potion in the horse level does exist in every version of the game.
- You do have to push the guard on the third temple level on a button. I thought the button behind him is for the same portcullis, but that's not the case.
- There is actually a point to the whole genie in a bottle sequence. I didn't notice this, but the exit door is opened by one of the buttons there. So that's an alternate way of beating the level.
