Prince of Persia Game Sample - Sega CD
A great port of a classic game, this Prince of Persia title (which seems to be adapted from the TurboGrafx-CD game which was released earlier, not to mention released first in Japan, which kinda explains the anime-style cutscenes) has a CD-quality soundtrack, a few nice cutscenes, good graphics and great character animations which most Prince of Persia ports (and Jordan Mechner) are known for. Otherwise, it's mostly the same old PoP without the additional quirks of the MD/Genesis and SNES versions. Beyond the cutscenes and CD audio however, it has seen minimal improvements compared to prior versions.
Your goal is to play as a nameless wanderer who has grown close to (and fallen in love with) the Princess of Persia, who has been abducted by an evil vizier, Jaffar, who has taken advantage of the fact that the Princess' father is away and plans to take control of all of Persia. Jaffar also loves the princess but she refuses to cooperate with him, so he gives her an ultimatum: Marry him, or die within one hour. Our nameless hero attempts to save her, but is caught and sent to the castle dungeon, but soon escapes and now has to escape the dangerous dungeon and fight his way to the princess.
You can adjust several settings in the game to make it more tolerable, but contrary to what the box says, the controls will take getting used to. This is a basic game sample for the game. Enjoy.
