After months of waiting, a tweet from the official Prince of Persia twitter page dropped suggesting that the game is swapping developers with Ubisoft Montreal handing over has been done to make the game more visually appealing after the backlast was recieved in early 2021 of its graphics overhaul. Other than that there have been talks for a new Prince of Persia game which would be inspired from Ori franchise and it would have a 2.5 D play style coming from the same studios. This would mean that Montreal studio would be busy with multiple projects in the coming year and since Prince of Persia has not been in the mix of priorities for the studio the game can only be expected in the next fiscal year that is between April 2023-March 2024. While this may be disheartening to many fans out there, it is a wise step considering the revival of the franchise and also in terms of rebooting the franchise with the same graphics overhaul. We can only hope for the best in the coming months as we know the updates regarding this remake has always dried up over the months and now we being at the helm of 2023 within a space of 6-7 months, we can only hope and not speculate about Sands of time remake's release date.
