I attempted commentary on this playthrough but it came out fucked up. Next time Ill do it like I did the other videos, as two seperate files, audio and video.
Bob Rupples is playing world 1-1 through 1-4 but from 2-1 its me playing. I will go back and beat world 1-1 after I complete the game for legitimacy.
Deaths edited out. Ill post up a total playtime after I complete the final level.
The way this game works is there is unlimited continues. If you lose a life you start at a checkpoint or the beginning of a level. The checkpoints are at half way points and the bosses. If you lose all lives you continue at the beginning of the world you last got to.
This is a very impressive version of Super Mario Bros. for the Atari 2600. The control is shitty though and the movement can be very choppy. Its very hard to edge the screen when near edges. Its impressive for what the system is doing though but makes the game harder later on.
The layouts of the levels is different and there is the thwomp enemies that are not from the first SMB game in this game. As well as the koopa kid bosses. Its also only half the length with 4 worlds containing 4 levels each. No warps either.
I will get back to the final world soon and finish it off.
