What do emerging producers and content creators need to consider and plan for in advance of starting shooting and production during the COVID-19 pandemic? Film, TV, and digital media production has started up across the country and there are many questions creators need to ask themselves, and plans that need to be put in place to protect those involved, as well as the communities where this work is taking place. Learn from a documentary film industry insider about what factors you need to consider when building your production plan (e.g. health and safety protocols, travel and border restrictions, insurance exclusions, etc), and how these might impact your budget.

Presented by Michelle van Beusekom, Executive Director, DOC
Moderated by Marcia Douglas, Senior Director, Business Affairs, CMPA

This session is part of the One Stop Business Workshop - Say Hello to series organized by CBC, CAVCO, and CMPA - originally livestreamed between June 10 - July 3, 2020. The goal of the series was to introduce new and emerging independent producers and content creators from traditionally underrepresented groups in the industry (women, persons with a disability, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour and LGBTQ2+) to topics related to the business and financing of TV, film and original digital content.
