Project Brutality 3.0:Aces High
....And now, for something that strained me a lot, but this series will be in between everything I have been doing and it will be part of a upcoming Playlist:Project Brutality/Brutal Doom Logs where I play as best as I can, I don't claim to be a master at this mod or Brutal Doom because I at times do underestimate the enemies new attacks and patterns.
What is Project Brutality 3.0? Well.. This is the "newest" version of the Spin-Off mod of Brutal Doom, It has many many new things including a Tier system which changes the enemy spawns as you go further through the IWAD or PWAD you have, A Quick melee attack with a Machete (which I mapped to my Mouse Wheel "Pressing down on it", It also has a blur and movement system inspired by modern shooters that I had to disable as I was getting vertigo looking at the swaying.
The weapons have been overhauled with their own pickup animations, You got a nifty Helmet animation placing it on your head and you also got two unique animations switching between "Smash" and "Rip And Tear" Modes when you have the fists selected, The "Vanilla" Wave animation from earlier Brutal Doom versions is back and leaves you in First person mode as opposed to locking you in Third Person like in Brutal Doom V21 Gold.
Enemy tiers relate to how dangerous they are:As you progress in the tradtional tier you will deal with Former Humans who have Chainguns, and Rocket Launching "Sargents", Dark Imps who have magic attacks, The Belgephor and Cyber Baron and even a "Annihilator" dual wield Rocket Cyberdemon are the possible choices, You could also go Chaotic Random with every enemy type around..or also go Classic Brutal Doom and have no new enemy types, Also whoever thought up the ability to let Imps climb on the ceiling, you suck.
The Arsenal of Project Brutality 3.0 has been expanded with new weapons and some originals returning from 2.01, And Dual wield has been added to some of these originals such as the SMG, Revolver, and Plasma Rifle, A new weapon among the changes is the Nailgun which is inspired by Quake's Nailgun and it can be changed to a Speargun, Upgrades can be walked over and used to change the base weapons to more powerful or more visual effective.
Among my favorite changes includes the ability to ledge climb if you use the double jump (bound to the source-port's Jump key), And similar to earlier Brutal Doom Versions there are some fatalities you can pull off that leave enemies agonizing in pain and can be destroyed for cruelty bonuses, Thing I did not like in V21 Gold of Brutal Doom was the removal some of these from the classic monster roster.
I am not exactly a pro at this, I do loose health quite a bit because as before, I do sometimes underestimate the enemies, and those wondering.. I had to retake this video a whopping 67 times due to my System locking up and my laptop battery becoming very hot, Even if there's pauses and lag..I am happy this fucking laptop does run this mod unlike my Windows 8 Laptop, Next video in this series will appear in March after the Blue-Shift playthrough and it will be about Brutal Doom V21 Gold, I also have a laundry list of addons for Brutal Doom and Project Brutality to test.
