Project MORPH is a top down, transformative - souls-like - sci-fi - action RPG.
A unique transformation mechanic brings a new level of player progression. Players will collect enemy DNA and use it to transform themselves into various creatures, which we call “Morphs”.
Become your enemy, literally, and fight fire with fire.
A main character whose skill is based on his slain enemies:
• The main player ability is to transform into various monsters called Morphs
• The more monsters the player kills, the more powerful his Morphs become
• Monster DNA can also be used to enhanced your weapons and equipment
The Story
You are a bioengineered soldier, tasked with saving the Galaxy from an infectious disease mutating organisms across solar systems. Travel in your spaceship to contaminated planets and fight to contain the Nanoplague. You are a living weapon, a humanoid engineered with the same nanotechnology plaguing your galaxy, giving you the ability to transform into powerful creatures
2P's Re.V.U.
One of the game's highlights is its straightforward narrative, allowing players to quickly grasp the plot and understand their role in combating. However, despite the intriguing premise, the game suffers from several technical defects that hinder the overall experience.
One of the most noticeable issues with the game is the prevalence of bugs. During my playthrough, I experienced multiple game-breaking bugs that disrupted my immersion. For example, while transforming into the blue dragon and jumping on canyons, I unexpectedly got stuck in a surrounding rock formation, rendering me unable to progress. Additionally, a quirky occurrence occurred during a heated battle with a soil digger creature, where I was unexpectedly interrupted by a conversion sequence with my robot companion. Such inconsistencies greatly detract from the gameplay and indicate a need for proper development.
Furthermore, the physics implementation in the game leaves much to be expected. Transforming into different creatures is a core mechanic, but the transition often feels clunky and unresponsive. There were instances where the physics failed to adapt quickly enough, resulting in a delay before being able to utilize the abilities of the newly transformed creature effectively. Moreover, the character movement mechanics could have been better designed, making it easier to navigate the game world fluidly. This issue became a persistent frustration throughout my gameplay experience.
In terms of visuals, the graphics in the game felt rather basic and needed more polish than one would expect from a sci-fi RPG in this day and age. While the game's focus may not solely be on graphical fidelity, improved visual design and attention to detail could have significantly enhanced the overall immersion. A more visually engaging experience further complemented the intriguing storyline and helped to create a more cohesive and immersive game world.
In conclusion, this sci-fi action RPG exhibits a captivating narrative and an exciting gameplay concept that revolves around transforming into different creatures. However, the game needs to catch up due to numerous technical issues, including disruptive bugs, lack of physics implementation, and subpar character movement mechanics. Additionally, the graphical presentation feels basic and could benefit from further development. Despite its potential, the game's flaws ultimately hindered my enjoyment and prevented it from reaching its full potential.
