Project MUGEN: The ardent fighting passion of Scott (Lieutenant Willie on a good day)
Say Seingbraze again. No, not like saying Seingbraze to call it out, I mean like saying Seingbraze is an unnecessarily long move. Because her instant kill takes 1 minute and 15 seconds.
Character Bashed:
Hatsune Miku (Yu-Toharu)
Now this is how you over saturate a character, she has mechanics from like three different games. (Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, and surprisingly Power Instinct Matrimelee) She has a cluttered HUD in her corner that displays her current mood, palette, power meter, burst gauge, music notes, and current helper, and indicates whenever her meter is full or using blood heat. The power meter fills up over time or by doing anything, and when it fills up Miku turns invincible in a short burst and her attack and defense are permanently upped. Her music notes allow her to use supers, and the more lethal the attack the more notes it takes and can be refilled by taunting. And aside from the burst she gets when the power meter is full, she gets a regular GG-style burst and a stress burst from Matrimelee. What she also gets multiple of is parries, she gets a regular Third Strike parry, (chance make) a Melty Blood parry, (ex-shield, or what I like to call baby's first parry) and a third parry called recoil guard, I have no idea how you get it. As for specials she has so many that one is mapped to "QCB-F" which is like a super motion, and she can also parry bursts which is something that I think shouldn't happen. And for supers she has four regular ones, (one being an EX version of another) a GG-style instant kill when she gets full power meter, one super for blood heat, and another type of instant kill that I have no idea how to perform and the AI has only done it once in the several years I had this character. When we get to the EX super, that is the level 2 super that takes 2 notes, things get really fucking messy. Here Miku can summon a random helper based off of what is displayed in the tiny image in the corner. And how fucked you are depends solely on luck, you could get something that drops the combo in the middle of the super, you could get something that's blockable, you could get something that's unblockable, you could get something that hurts everyone, you could get Beat who loves to interrupt everything you do, (which is what I got this match) or you could get LITERALLY THE FUCKING DEATH NOTE that puts you at risk of insta-dying in 40 seconds, there's like a million of these. And then there's Toei Spider Man, who can make or break a match. By that I mean that he swaps the health bars, which can put you at a major advantage or disadvantage. And although all of Miku's sprites are original and well-done, the helpers seem to be taken from other sources. Sprites from Mega Man 2, Kirby Super Star, Cheetahmen, and Power Instinct Matrimelee were ripped, some character sprites are shamelessly stolen from other creators. Sprites from Ronald McDonald, Haruhi Suzumiya, Shana, Cloud Strife, Konata, and Meer were all taken from their actual MUGEN chracters. Strangely Seto Kaiba and Rena Ryuuguu use different sprites from their MUGEN creations. I think it's also worth noting that some of the humor of this character is dated since one of her supers involves the Angry German Kid, if anybody remembers that. And speaking of over-saturation, this character has announcer soundfonts that has MvC sounds in the Guilty Gear soundfonts. And I haven't even gotten to the AI, the AI is unfairly brutal due to being extremely fast and damaging. Except her brain shuts off at far range and resorts to spamming primarily one move. Add the luck-based helpers, invincible back dash, and unnecessary amount of mechanics and this character is near impossible. Also, what's curious about this character is that in the SFF file there are several still images of various characters, and I assume they're used in the super where she turns you in to another sprite if you don't have midnight bliss compatibility but I've never seen most of them and a lot of them are really weird decisions. I might even do another video just going over just some of the sprites.
Character Used:
Seikimatu Guile (KAZ)
Now this is a weird specimen, not just because he's a non-charge version of Guile, but he turns Miku from "nearly impossible" to "totally fucking bodied." I think it's because he's fast and fairly easy to use and his supers are simple to use as well as having a parry that I seem to accidentally use all the time. Not only that but he has special interactions with Miku, I'm not sure if it's just this Miku or if it's with any Miku with a name Guile recognizes but it's bizarre either way.
