Project Wingman VR #2 - Valkyrie's Call, Oculus Quest 2 w/Link
Huh. That's a cool thumbnail. It happens at 14:00.
This is mission 13 out of 21 in the single player campaign.
I chose the SK 25U since it has 3 guided ground target weapon hardpoints. It turns slowly, so it isn't optimal for dogfighting, but it's great for taking out masses of ground targets. The plane also has a gun cannon that can take out ground targets explosively, and quickly down planes if I can get them lined up. Unfortunately, I ran out of gun ammo halfway through the mission, so I had to rely on my basic standard missiles and wait for a good firing position against jets.
The missions are getting somewhat cool with the huge airships flying around and the railguns going off - I just wish the action had just a little bit more punch to it. And despite how good things look here in flat screen, there is a bit of a lack of presence in VR. Still, I'd rather play in VR than flatscreen.
Playing on a i7 8700, 16GB 2666 RAM, RTX 2060 SUPER with Oculus Link cable (2 Gbps). You can see my fps in the upper right corner. Sometimes I get 72 fps, but more usually 36 fps when there are any amount of effects on screen. I have most graphic settings set to 1. Shadows are set to 2, res is set at 100%, and the Oculus base res is set to 3616x1840 (1.0) 72Hz. I'm using the Oculus Debug tool, setting curvature to Low, horizontal res to 2784 (whatever that means) and a 300 Mbps Link bitrate. I'd like to get an Asus TUF RTX 3080 OC (around 200% faster than my current GPU) so I can up my settings a bit and get more stable framerates.
