Yuri used her powers to look into Miu's memories, but Miu turned it back on her with her own power. Miu needed to rest and Yuri was uncertain how to proceed. She decided to use the photograph of the shadowy image and Hisoka's pendant to trace her. The trace led her to the summit of Mt. Hikami, the Twility Peak, and to a lake known as the Lake of the Departed. Signs of Hisoka heading up were very clear, and it seemed Hisoka was unsure whether she was tracking one of the missing people or whether it was the mountain that was luring her to it. Near the lake Yuri encounters a mysterious old lady in black vestments. But the next thing she knew, she was about to be sealed in a sacred casket, similar to the one Miu was trapped in! She fought off this spirit. It was clear now that the "Pillars" and "Immortal Flower" referred to Shrine Maidens, who were women with powerful psychic abilities. The roles of the Pillars were many: to glance at dying individuals, taking in their memories, pain, sins, every emotion they had. Eventually when the memories were too much, the maidens were sealed in Reliquaries containing the Black Water which were said to be a conduit to the Netherworld.

The reason they were called "Immortal Flowers" was because they wouldn't die when they were sealed in the Reliquaries filled with Black Water, but instead they would go into an eternal sleep, with their bodies never ageing as they continue to relive dreams of death. The Black Water corrupts all it touches and thus must be kept at bay by the Pillars as their reliquaries are sunk into what is known as the Shadowspring. A large spring of Black Water that connects the Netherworld to the surface. Without the Pillars to keep the Shadowspring from over flowing, the Black Water would taint the clear Pure Water of the mountains and engulf the world turning it into the Netherworld. Only those tainted by the water, the Shadow Touched, may approach as they carried the Reliquaries and sank together with them. The larger sacred Caskets, like the one Miu was in and in which Yuri was nearly locked in were made bigger to accommodate the grooms bound to the maidens through the Ghost Marriage. The grooms' role in turn was to support the maidens so that they would last longer as the Pillars before the memories and pain dissolve them. Together they are sunk into the Black Water.

Ghost List Photo Ops:
- Traces of Hisoka (There are 6 traces. It is important for you to follow her trace exactly and not deviate or else you could miss some of them.)
- Three children running away (They'll appear as soon as you enter the Twilit Peak area. Capture all three in a wide angled photograph. Back away a bit if needed.)

Fatal Glance Photo Ops:
- Flamekeeper (if you missed getting the Glance in the previous drop, you'll have ample opportunities here. For lone encounters, defeating them and Touching them is enough. Only challenge is that they disappear very quickly and you could miss it if you're not close enough. But if there are two, you can defeat one, and Touch the other as he tries to revive his companion. Touching him exorcizes him instantly, and the one you already defeated will also fade away.)
- Shadow-Touched (if you missed getting the Glance in the Fifth Drop, you'll have lots of opportunities in this episode. Defeat them and Touch them. Touch them while they're trying to put their mask back on for an instant exorcism.)
