Protodroid DeLTA is a stylized platformer that recalls me of the genre's transition into 3D in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In fact, the first zone calls to mind the excellent and underrated Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, complete with a guitar-riffing soundtrack that continued to play in my head long after I completed it. The mechanized foes, floating stages, and moving platforms are all powered by the same source of energy.

Visually, it also checks all of these boxes, although the frame rate is occasionally sluggish by today's standards. This becomes even more apparent when viewing distant moving elements, such as lasers and rotating ledges.
