This is rough sample prototype arrangement for concept for a future arranged album.

Rough arrangements are for concept only, consisting of low-quality samples, and may not have been entirely mixed or panned. They exist to demonstrate the arrangement planned for the future Might and Magic I~V arranged album consisting of combination of high-quality sample libraries and/or live instruments.

This arrangement combines elements from the Roland MT-32 and PC-98/FM-TOWNS versions.
To conclude this arrangement, I added an entirely new ending, giving it a sort of "victory" feeling after an intense conflict. The image in mind for the arrangement is engaging with robots on the first level of Castle Alamar.

The Roland MT-32 version of this theme was originally composed for the Japanese game Starfire, before its designers decided to use OPN/OPNA FM music instead. (Only 2 of 17 original BGM designed for it were actually used in the final version of Starfire, and entirely new BGM were later composed for it). These 17 initial Starfire pieces were then intended to be used by Darkside's designers for various Sci-Fi environs and scenes.

This unused Sci-Fi theme was lost for nearly 25 years and was not even present in the final game's data. Thanks to the cooperation of Gary Arnold (the programmer responsible for converting the game from PC to Macintosh), New World Computing's .M format version of this track was recovered from a late incomplete World of Xeen assets disc. To date, this has been the only source for this otherwise lost cue, and the original MT-32 MIDI of it has not yet been located.

What Might and Magic V’s design team intended to use this music for is a mystery, but it was originally composed for the "Radium Mines" in Starfire (a location that was omitted from the PC-98 version of the game).
